Creating Custom iPhone Ringtones:
In the early days Apple didn’t let you do custom ringtones and it was fraking lame. Some tools and hacks emerged to create and install ringtones and other sounds, but somewhere over the past 20 months I sort of lost interest in ringtones. Out of sight and out of mind. That is until today.
So what’s up with creating ring tones now?  I realized that many people are still confused about it and think that you can’t do it. Well you can. It’s easy. And Apple even tells you how to do it. Here I’ve outlined the process a little better than they do and included a few tips on how to get a good ringtone.   >>READ…
Installing a sata optical drive in a Mac Pro:
Installing a sata optical drive can be tricky because the Mac Pro’s standard connection for optical drives is Ultra-ATA. There are two ways to install a Sata optical drive: First there are some kits which include an Ultra-ATA to Sata adaptor that plugs into the back of the unit and then provides a sata connector. Also I’m a little leery of using the interface adaptor with one fear being a speed loss, although it’s probably fine.
The second method is to use one of the unused sata connectors on the Mac Pro motherboard. This is a slightly more involved process because the sata connectors are hard to get to. But it’s no match for a phillips screwdriver. If you’re game I’ve worked up a how-to guide with lots of photos. It is christening the new tutorial section of the site…  >>READ…
Dell Mini 9 Leopard Install:
One of the most popular posts on this site is about installing Leopard on a Dell Mini 9. Our 9 inch Dell has been working great as a Mac and at less than $500 it’s one of the best Macs you can get for the price. Â At least until Apple sells a touch tablet mac.
As I’ve said, the install process is not for the weak. It took me the most part of a day and two attempts. But I videotaped the process and cut together an entertaining and, hopefully, educational video. I did not come up with the process but was in touch with the guy who did during my install. All the needed links to the tools and instructions are here… >>READ…
